Vard Marine Inc. has been awarded the contract to design a 70m Landing Craft Tank by Khulna Shipyard Ltd. The design contract was signed in October 2022 and work is now underway on the program. The ship building contract awarded to Khulna Shipyard Ltd of Bangladesh by the Bangladesh Navy will be a multi-stage program.

CAE and Elbit Systems have officially announced their intention to pursue the Canadian Land Vehicle Crew Training System (LVCTS) program together. CAE will act as the prime contractor and training system integrator, while Elbit will be the major subcontractor, furnishing key elements of its advanced suite of proven vehicle training tools and technologies.

A SIGINT ship is used to support the acquisition of intelligence data across the full spectrum of naval intelligence capabilities. Saab will serve as prime contractor, designing and producing the two ships including the integration of advanced mission systems. The ships will be built by subcontractor Remontowa Shipbuilding SA in Poland.

Seaspan Shipyards reached an important milestone in the construction of the Offshore Oceanographic Science Vessel (OOSV). This OOSV will deliver much-needed fleet capability for the CCG and an oceanographic science platform for a broad range of Canadian Government departments and scientists. It will support a wide range of oceanographic, fishery, geological and hydrographic survey missions. These missions will advance scientific knowledge about the oceans, the seabed and the impacts of climate change, and help lead to healthier, more sustainable ocean ecosystems – a key priority of the Government of Canada's Blue Economy Strategy.

Magellan Aerospace has been awarded a multi-year contract from Lockheed Martin Corporation for complex machined titanium components for all three variants of the F-35 aircraft. This multi-million dollar contract will be carried out at Magellan Aerospace’s facility in Kitchener, Ontario over the period of 2023 to 2027. The contract is for shipsets of machined wing tie bars for the aircraft’s leading edge flap.

Approximately 150 vehicles will be moving autonomously and on flatbeds from the 2nd Canadian Division Support Base Valcartier, in the Quebec City area, to the U.S. Army installation Fort Polk in Vernon Parish, Louisiana, U.S. The vehicles could be seen on the road starting November 22.

Minister of National Defence, Anita Anand, announced that Canada is proposing the Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia, to host the North American Regional Office of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s (NATO) Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA). DIANA is a new NATO body that will create a network of innovation sites in North America and Europe, coordinated through one regional office in North America (Canada) and one in Europe, which is co-hosted in London, U.K., by the United Kingdom and Estonia.

The Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, announced a $43M contract to Canadensys Aerospace Corporation, from Bolton, Ontario, and its industrial and academic partners to build the first Canadian lunar rover. Thanks to a close and ongoing collaboration between the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) and NASA, the Canadian lunar rover will fly as part of NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Services initiative and would land in the south polar region of the Moon as early as 2026.

Quebec-based Héroux-Devtek, the world's third-largest landing gear manufacturer, has been awarded a contract by Embraer to design, develop and manufacture the main deck cargo door actuation system for the E190F and E195F Freighter conversion program. The agreement, which will be fulfilled by Héroux-Devtek's team in Spain, also includes the delivery of spare parts and aftermarket services for the life of the program.
