MDA is working with Thoth Technology Inc. to create a made-in-Canada deep space radar surveillance and space domain awareness (SDA) capability. This year, on May 25th, the PIF co-hosted an exclusive event with AWS Canada, which featured General Philippe Lavigne, NATO Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (SACT). Babcock Canada has partnered with OVA, a technology company based in Quebec, to support OVA’s innovative ‘AI-Enabled Metaverse Campus’ project. The AI-Enabled Metaverse Campus is a virtual initiative to develop intelligent, adaptive, and interactive environments tailored to the needs of an organization. It will allow individuals without a background in programming to create custom virtual worlds for their needs.

Hexagon | NovAtel announced their GPS Anti-Jam Technology (GAJT) antennas were selected for use on Armoured Combat Support Vehicles (ACSVs) being built for the Canadian Army to protect against cyber electromagnetic activities (CEMA). The GAJT antennas will mitigate threats to positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) from CEMA.

Canadian UAVs and Textron Systems will have a joint booth (Booth 121) at CANSEC 2023. The two companies have joined forces to bid on the Royal Canadian Navy’s ISTAR UAS project – a procurement that could be worth up to $200 million. The project is currently in the RFI stage and should be going to RFP shortly.

Vard Marine Inc. (VARD), a Fincantieri company, is proud to launch the Vigilance Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) at CANSEC 2023 in conjunction with Team Vigilance partner companies Heddle Shipyards, Thales Canada, SH Defense, and Fincantieri S.p.A.

In February IMP (booth 813)announced that it signed a significant sub-contract with General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada (GDMS-C) to design and implement a Block I Avionics Update for the Portuguese Air Force’s five-aircraft P-3C CUP+ fleet. This upgrade will enhance that fleet with significant new capabilities including upgraded Identification Friend or Foe Transponder (IFFT), Link-16 communications, and Data Management System (DMS). The IMP Engineering design effort commenced immediately, with the prototype aircraft currently scheduled for induction in October 2023.

BAE Systems (booth 713) will demonstrate a wide range of defence and security solutions for land, sea and cyberspace at CANSEC 2023. The event, held on 31 May and 1 June 2023 at EY Centre in Ottawa, will also look to the future of BAE Systems’ relationship with Canada, building on more than a century of collaboration.

JRoberts has been awarded a contract from the Department of National Defence (DND) for the repair of its Light Support Vehicle (LSVW) engines and Turbo Chargers. The work will be performed in the North York, Ontario, Canada facility recognized as the Centre of Excellence for the repair of DND Mercedes Benz G-Wagon vehicles.
