CAE today reported revenue of $1.0 billion for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2019, up 42% from the fourth quarter last year. Net income before specific items in the fourth quarter was $127.5 million ($0.48 per share), which represents a 55% EPS increase over the same period last year.

Magellan Aerospace will continue producing F-35 Lightning II horizontal tail assemblies under an agreement with BAE Systems. The agreement is the continuation of contract awards made to Magellan by BAE Systems and with the additional quantities awarded, Magellan will more than double its horizontal tails produced thus far for the program.

Vice-Admiral Mark Norman, who was charged with a single count of breach of trust for allegedly leaking cabinet secrets about the government’s $700M shipbuilding deal, was the No. 2 in the Canadian Forces until his temporary suspension in January of 2017. It wasn’t until March of 2018 that he was charged by the RCMP. Now more than a year later, the charges against VAdm Norman have been dropped.

QinetiQ has been awarded a C$51M (c£30M) contract to deliver unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) that will drive enhanced situational awareness for the Canadian Armed Forces. The contract will be delivered from QinetiQ’s state-of-the-art unmanned vehicle manufacturing and operational facilities in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
