COTA Aviation Awarded Contract to Replace Galley’s on Canada's Victoria-Class Submarines
COTA Aviation (COTA) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract following a competitive tender to design and deliver new modern galley facilities for Canada's four Victoria-Class Submarines (VCS).
The “Improved Galley for Victoria-Class Submarines” contract involves the design, manufacturing, delivery, and installation of improved galleys for HMCS Windsor at CFB Halifax and HMCS Victoria, HMCS Corner Brook, and HMCS Chicoutimi located at CFB Esquimalt.
To win the Request For Proposal (RFP) COTA assembled a Pan Canadian team of industry leaders in engineering, manufacturing, installation, galley design, and Victoria-Class Submarine Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO). This powerful collaboration ensures that the enhanced galleys will meet and exceed technical and functional requirements while adhering to all regulations and industry best practices.

COTA will replace and modernize outdated galley components, counters, storage units, refrigerators, juice dispensers, and cooking equipment. Notably, this modernization will be conducted within the existing galley footprint, minimizing the need for significant modifications to the submarine's structure. All parts will be built modular for passage through each submarine's restricted access and installation routesand reassembled onboard.
The Galley Improvement Project's primary objective is to enhance crew comfort, safety, and efficiency through the delivery of modern functional galleys, equipped with state-of-the-art designs such as ergonomic and height-adjustable work surfaces and the latest Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) equipment.
