L-3 MAPPS Awarded $73 Million Contract for HCM

L-3 Communications announced that its Montreal-based MAPPS division (L-3 MAPPS) has been awarded a $73 million contract to supply its Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) upgrade for the Canadian Navy's 12 Halifax Class frigates. The IPMS will modernize the frigate's ship control system and improve the operational effectiveness of the vessels.

CAE to Support AFILE

Project, AFIILE (Air Force Integrated Information and Learning Environment), led by prime contractor CAE has enlisted OutStart to assist Canada’s Air Force build a military training environment that will meet current and future requirements. OutStart plans to implement its LCMS (learning content management system) software as part of a global project to help Canada’s Air Force transform its training operations. AFIILE offers an integrated suite of software applications that users can access to develop, manage and deliver training content across the enterprise.

GDLS Canada awards contract to Allen-Vanguard

Allen-Vanguard announced that it was recently awarded a contract from General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada to provide the Commander Blast Seat for the Stryker armoured vehicle. The contract is for a quantity of 2,178 seats at a value of approximately $15.3 million CDN, with first deliveries to begin in the second quarter of 2009.

L-3 WESCAM receives $90 million contract with USAF

L-3 Communications announced that its WESCAM subsidiary has been awarded a $90 million indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract from the U.S. Air Force Aeronautical Systems Center (ASC). The initial order under the ID/IQ is for MX-15Di turrets with deliveries to begin in 2009.

The funeral will be held at 10am the Roman Catholic Church located near Petawawa. At the request of family, the funeral service will be closed to the media, but media may record the event outside of the Chapel.

CMC to supply cockpit suite for T-6B Trainer

CMC Electronics Inc. has received its first production order from Hawker Beechcraft Corporation for CMC’s Integrated Avionics System (IAS) for the HBC T-6B Texan trainer aircraft. CMC received the order for the first 35 aircraft in the production run after completing all necessary program requirements.
