|Delay of CATS Contract Solicitation||Mar. 25, 2011|
|Discovery Air’s subsidiary, Top Aces, has been notified by Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) of its intention to retender a new Request For Proposal (RFP) under the current Contracted Airborne Training Services (CATS) procurement. PWGSC made the decision to cancel the current solicitation as they determined that the period for submitting proposals under the RFP process which closed in January 2011 was insufficient. This decision could have the effect of delaying the award of the new CATS long term contract.
Top Aces will continue to deliver services to the Crown under the current Interim Contracted Airborne Training Services (ICATS) framework through to June 2012. The Government has the option to extend the ICATS framework for an additional 12 months to June 2013, or until such earlier time as PWGSC awards a new long term CATS contract.
President of Top Aces, Didier Toussaint, stated “Top Aces continues to deliver combat support services to train the men and women of the Canadian Forces and to assist in ensuring they are ready for their commitments worldwide. We are confident that we will provide an excellent, cost effective solution for Canada.”
